James Ruane

James Ruane has been Managing Director, Capital Solutions, International since January 2022. Based in the London office, he develops the international strategy for the Capital Solutions team in Europe, Asia and South America. He is also responsible for business development related to the North American transportation and finance subsectors. He sits on the Management Committee of the Fixed Income team, the Infrastructure Debt Investment Committee, and the Executive Committee for Europe.

Mr. Ruane has over 20 years of investment and finance experience. During his career, he has acquired extensive expertise in credit and private equity, as well as a deep understanding of financial institutions. Before joining CDPQ, he held several management positions, including in large organization such as Bayview Asset Management, Deutsche Bank and Apax Partners.

Mr. Ruane holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in Boston and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Business from Trinity College Dublin. During his studies, he also spent a year at Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
