Leadership
Philippe Tremblay has been Executive Vice-President, Depositors and Total Portfolio since January 2024. He heads the Depositor Advisory Services, Portfolio Construction, Currency Management and Economic and Financial Analysis activities. He sits on the Investment-Risk Committee, as well as chairing the Depositors and Total Portfolio Committee and the Strategy and Execution Committee, which oversee the positioning of the overall portfolio.
With over 20 years of experience at CDPQ, Mr. Tremblay has a deep understanding of the organization and has built relationships of trust with depositors over the years. Since joining the Risk Management team in 2002, he gained distinction over the years by contributing to the establishment of the Credit, Liquidity and Counterparty Risk Management practice, the development of a market risk analytical approach and the creation of the role of Business Unit Risk Manager, which provides a key advisory function to investment groups.
Appointed Vice-President, Risk, Asset Allocation, Portfolio and Modelling in 2013, Mr. Tremblay worked closely for several years with the teams responsible for the Asset Allocation and Active Overlay Strategies portfolios. He was also involved in positioning CDPQ on currency management in 2017. From June 2023 to January 2024, he served as Vice-President, Risk, Equity Markets, Total Portfolio and Modelling, which allowed him to develop a 360° view of the liquid portfolios’ risk factors and to further support decision-making.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a specialization in finance and a Master’s in Financial Engineering from HEC Montréal. He also holds the FRM certification and is a CFA charterholder.

Mr. Tremblay currently sits on the administrative committee of the Canadian Derivatives Institute.
