Cookies Notice
CDPQ deems it essential to inform you clearly and transparently about the use of cookies before you browse this site. This Cookies Notice describes the information that CDPQ is likely to collect and how it will be used. CDPQ will not collect information that can identify you by name, directly or indirectly, unless you voluntarily communicate that information by responding to specific forms.
In this Notice, the terms that are not defined in the main text are defined in APPENDIX 1: Definitions.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a set of data stored on the hard drive of your terminal (computer, tablet, mobile) through your browser software when you consult an online service. Cookies are widely used by websites. They support the operation of the site or improve navigation and also provide certain information, especially in terms of visitor numbers, to the site owners.
Cookies do not damage your terminal, and they make it easier, for example, to retrieve preferences, auto-fill some fields and adapt the service content of the website. This information improves the site ergonomics and services, based on your interests.
2. What types of cookies do we use?
The information gathered by our cookies helps us analyze the use of our site and offer users a better experience when they visit. We only keep the cookies for the period required to achieve the relevant objectives set out in this Notice, including statistical purposes.
In general, we use first-party and third-party cookies which may be either session or persistent. The cookies we use are called “first-party cookies” and the cookies our partners and service providers use are called “third-party cookies.”
- Session cookies
Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you close your web browser. Many session cookies are essential to the proper operation of our website, because they allow you to navigate on our site and use our features.
- Persistent cookies
Persistent cookies stay on your device after you close your browser or until you manually delete them (in the first case, how long the cookie lasts depends on its lifespan and your browser settings, but the lifespan is limited to 13 months). Persistent cookies help us recognize you as an existing user of our website. This makes it easier and more convenient for you to return to our website or interact with our services without having to log back in. Persistent cookies also help us recognize you when you consult a resource that belongs to our site from another website or an application (such as an advertisement) and help us record information about your browsing habits during the cookie’s lifespan.
- Social media cookies
Our website offers some features from third-party sites, including some social media sites. These features may be accompanied by scripts or other features that read and sometimes place cookies from those social media networks on your device. These cookies may be used to personalize advertising messages. Although we do not have access to these cookies or any control over those networks – which are responsible for their own processing – or over the information they collect, including data transfers outside of the European Union for networks located in the United States, we deem it important to mention them so you are fully and clearly informed that their use may require your consent. For further information, please refer to the list of potential social media cookies below:

3. How we use cookies
Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are necessary for the site to function and cannot be deactivated in our systems.
Preference cookies: Preference cookies allow us to remember information that changes the behaviour or appearance of the website, such as your preferred language, the region you are in, and audio and video settings.
Statistics cookies: Statistics cookies allow us to understand how visitors interact with our site by collecting and reporting information anonymously.
Marketing cookies: Marketing cookies are used to track visitors on our website. The objective is to display advertisements that are relevant and attractive to the individual user and therefore more useful for the publishers and third-party advertisers.
Analytics tools and other third-party technologies
We use analytical tools and other third-party technologies, such as Google Analytics.
- Why do we use them? To automatically collect information of a non-personal nature. For example, the website uses Google Analytics to understand how users use the website. This allows us to analyze the traffic on the site or determine its future direction, including any required upgrades.
- How does it work? The information generated by Google Analytics cookies about the use of the site is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to compile statistical reports about activity on the site.
- How to activate them (opt in)? You can choose to install the browser add-on available at this address https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en, to activate Google Analytics and allow your activity data to be transmitted.
Other operations that may be carried out using this data: Anonymized Google Analytics data may be shared with other Google services, which may use it to contextualize and personalize advertisements in their own advertising network. CDPQ reserves the right to perform statistical analyses using the data collected through the site on an anonymous and aggregated basis, to assess the interest in and use of the site. CDPQ reserves the right to provide its anonymous and aggregated data analyses to any third party.
For your information only, consult the list of first-party and third-party cookies.
4. How to accept or decline the use of cookies
Each browser has different settings for managing cookies and choices. These settings are described in your browser’s help menu, so you can learn how to change your cookie preferences. Any change you make in the settings may change your browsing experience and your access to certain services that require cookies.
You can configure your devices to accept all cookies, to inform you when a cookie is issued or to decline all cookies. If you choose the latter option, it may restrict your access to some personalized services, and you may not be able to take full advantage of all the features the site offers.
If you do not wish to receive cookies in general or you want to refuse only certain cookies, you can adjust your browser settings accordingly.
Instructions for doing so are provided on the website of each browser:
- For Microsoft (Edge or Internet Explorer):
