“Through this conference, Montréal positions itself as a global leading centre on socio-economic issues related to retirement,” says Mario Albert, Chief Executive Officer of Finance Montréal. “Montréal is home to international leaders in pension fund management and close to 250 locally managed public and private pension funds.”

“Planning for one’s retirement is no small task,” explains Bernard Morency, Executive Vice-President, Depositors, Strategy and Chief Operations Officer of la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. “Going through it, even less so. When millions of people transition from full-time work to full-time retirement and learn how to live off their savings while keeping enough for the later years and for arising health-care needs, individual challenges become societal ones. These challenges affect citizens and workers just as they do businesses and governments. Our conference will address the topic of “retirement and how it affects us.” It will be a special opportunity to exchange ideas with established speakers, who will be sharing their analyses with us, on what we can do here but also to broaden our perspective of what is being done elsewhere in the world.”

“Power Financial Corporation is pleased to be associated once more with the International Pension Conference of Montreal,” says R. Jeffrey Orr, President and Chief Executive Officer. “This day of discussions should help clarify the issues around retirement, where reality and perception are frequently widely diverging,” says Orr.

“On the occasion of the 21st Conference of Montreal, The International Economic Forum of the Americas is honoured to host, for the third time, such an important and timely event as part of our program,” said Nicholas Rémillard, President and CEO of the IEFA. “The Province of Quebec is positioning itself more and more as a global leader in the pension management industry and events such as these are essential to encourage discussion and the sharing of information.”
