Message from the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse
President and Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, released this afternoon the following message to employees of the Caisse and Ivanhoé Cambridge, its real estate subsidiary.
“Using French as the language of work at the Caisse is much more than an obligation to me. It’s a fundamental personal commitment in which I deeply believe.
The Caisse has many responsibilities. One of the greatest responsibilities, in addition to generating returns for its depositors and contributing to the economic development of Québec, is to establish, year after year, the next generation of world-class French-speaking executives. In my opinion, it is our duty to also nurture the pool of Québec financial expertise.
For this reason – and for many others – it is therefore vital that this commitment be honoured, by both the Caisse and its subsidiaries. Daniel Fournier, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Ivanhoé Cambridge, announced earlier today several measures that would be taken to this effect.
The guiding principle is simple: French is the language of work at the Caisse, at all levels of the organization.
Michael Sabia.”
