Nicolas Parent is Vice-President, Economic and Financial Analysis in the Depositors and Total Portfolio group. He oversees a team that provides investment activities support through ongoing analysis of global economic conditions and of the evolution of financial markets. The team also produces thematic analyses to guide the organization’s strategies. Mr. Parent is a member of the following investment committees: Depositors and Total Portfolio, Liquid Market Steering and Rates and Currencies Active Management Committees.
He has over 25 years of experience in macroeconomics and economic modelling. He joined CDPQ in 2015 as Senior Advisory Director, Investment Management, before becoming Deputy Chief Economist.
Previously, he worked at the International Monetary Fund where he was Senior Advisor to the Canadian Executive Director, as well as the Bank of Canada, where he spent 15 years in various roles as an expert in macroeconomic modelling and projections.
Mr. Parent holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a major in Economic and Finance and a Master’s in Applied Economics from HEC Montréal. He is also a CFA charterholder.
