Managing Director, Funds, Private Markets
Daniel Leith is Managing Director, Funds for Private Markets. Based in London, he is responsible for managing CDPQ’s private equity fund strategy in Europe. He also takes part in the selection of technology funds around the world, with a focus on venture capital and growth equity funds. In addition, he develops high-quality strategic partnerships with key market participants.
Prior to joining CDPQ in October 2018, Mr. Leith was a Managing Director and Private Investments Specialist in UBS’s Global Wealth Management unit. He was a member of UBS’s Private Investments Investment and Management Committees. In addition, he served in UBS’s Private Investments Distribution team as Co-Head of Europe, Head of North America (Offshore) and Emerging Markets and Acting Head of Asia. Before joining UBS, he spent 12 years at Cambridge Associates, a global investment consulting firm, as a Managing Director and Private Markets Specialist. He began his career at Abbey National (now part of Banco Santander), as an Analyst in the Private Equity Division.
Mr. Leith has a law degree from the University of Exeter and originally qualified as a lawyer, having been called to the Bar in 1995. He also earned the CISI Investment Advice Diploma. He is a member of several general partners’ LP advisory committees in Europe, including CVC Capital Partners, EQT and Ardian.
