As Executive Vice-President, Fixed Income and Active Overlay Strategies, Marc Cormier oversees the teams that invest in fixed-income securities. He is also in charge of bond investments and is responsible for the teams that implement active overlay strategies in the financial markets. Mr. Cormier is a member of La Caisse’s Executive Committee. He also sits on the Investment-Risk Committee, Investment Management Committee and IT-Operations Strategic Committee. Since November 2014, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Otéra Capital, a subsidiary of La Caisse specializing in commercial real estate financing.
Mr. Cormier has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and investment industries. Since joining La Caisse in 1997, he has held various positions as director and vice-president with the fixed-income investment team. Mr. Cormier was previously Senior Vice-President, Provincial Market and Financing, with the Fixed Income and Currencies unit. As such, he managed the portion of the Bond portfolio invested in securities issued by the governments of various Canadian provinces, including the Québec government. He was also responsible for short-term investment and financing operations.
Before joining La Caisse, Mr. Cormier worked for several French financial institutions in Montréal and Paris, including Crédit Lyonnais, where he served as Treasurer, and Crédit commercial de France. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Université Laval and an advanced graduate diploma in finance from the Université de Aix en Provence, as well as a Master of Applied Economics, with a major in finance, from the Université de Rennes.
Mr. Cormier has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Montreal Institute of Structured Finance and Derivatives since 2012.
